We’re seeking a detail-oriented and motivated People Operations (HR) Generalist to join our team in Augusta, GA. This role is ideal for an HR professional who thrives on precision and accountability, with a strong focus on workers’ compensation and benefits administration.
Position Overview
The People Operations (HR) Generalist is responsible for managing critical compliance and employee support functions. You’ll handle workers’ compensation claims from start to finish, ensure precise benefits administration, and partner with managers and employees to maintain a safe, compliant, and supportive workplace. Candidates with experience in a captive or self-insured insurance environment will be given priority consideration.
Key Responsibilities
Workers’ Compensation

Submit first reports of injury, maintain OSHA logs, and track lag time with accuracy.

Manage all aspects of workers’ compensation claims, including documentation, reporting, and return-to-work coordination.

Serve as the liaison with insurance captive partners, medical providers (e.g., Concentra), and attorneys.

Coordinate light duty and return-to-work plans with managers and track restrictions to ensure compliance.

Attend annual workshops and stay current on regulatory requirements.
Benefits Administration

Accurately process benefit enrollments, qualifying events, and terminations in Paycom.

Manage multiple plans, including health, dental, vision, disability, accident, critical illness, and retirement.

Track benefit premiums, arrears, and ensure data integrity.

Support open enrollment by posting guides, attending location meetings, and setting up plans in Paycom.

Attend annual benefits conference to maintain industry knowledge.
General People Operations

Provide clear guidance to managers and employees on workplace injuries, safety, and related policies.

Maintain accurate, confidential employee records in HRIS systems.

Support employee relations, onboarding, and compliance projects.

Collaborate with the People Operations team to strengthen culture and engagement.
