The District is recruiting qualified and hardworking individuals to fill the positions of Lead and Assistant Laser Tag Instructors. Primary duties and qualifications for the positions will vary slightly based upon experience, but will include instruction of laser tag, and providing a safe and fun environment for participants. This is an at-will position. Other duties and responsibilities include:
- Set-up party room, gym, and equipment for laser tag.
- Attend trainings to learn equipment, games and procedures.
- Explain safety and game rules and demonstrate how the equipment works to participants.
- Lead and assist participants through games. Start and end games for participants.
- Monitor the strength of teams and switch participants from team to team to make games more competitive.
- Interact with participants during the games.
- Should be courteous and friendly to parents, children, supervisor and other staff members. Should possess enthusiasm toward teaching.
- Assist customer by bringing in/taking out any party supplies when requested.
- Take down and put away equipment. Properly care for equipment and return to storage areas in a neat and organized manner.
- Clean-up after the party, leaving the party room and gym in the condition it was before the party.
- Communicate facility and equipment repair needs to Recreation Manager.
- Attend District-wide part-time staff orientations, crisis trainings and office staff trainings as directed.
- Observe and follow all Park District safety policies and regulations. The safety of staff and participants is a continuing responsibility of all employees.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Must be at least 16 years of age to be an Assistant Laser Tag Instructor, and at least 18 to be a Lead Laser Tag Instructor. Must have the ability to prioritize and work independently or with other staff as necessary. Requires strong communication and customer service skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with staff and the public.
Schedule & Pay:
This is a part-time, year-round position. Hours will vary. The starting hiring range is $15.00 - $17.00/hour, DOQ. Please indicate which position you are applying for, Lead or Assistant Instructor.
