Description

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Streamline the flow of restaurant orders, helping ensure that dishes go out to tables on time and at the expected standard.
  • Stand at the pass during service and act as the middle person between service staff and cooks.
  • Relay important information between kitchen staff and waitstaff (e.g. when a customer has a special request).
  • Ensure the efficient flow of orders from waitstaff to the kitchen.
  • Ensure orders are being prepared with the correct priority.
  • Assist with the final preparation of dishes.
  • Check dishes for accuracy, presentation and temperature prior to delivery.
  • Deliver orders as needed to ensure efficient service.
  • Tactfully and efficiently handle customer complaints.
  • Assist with cleaning to ensure work area meets quality and sanitation standards.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience as a food expediter or related position strongly preferred.
  • High school diploma or general education diploma (GED).

  • Knowledge of proper sanitation and food safety procedures.

  • Able and willing to work any changes in scheduled hours as required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Mobility throughout the facility.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to twist, bend and squat frequently.
  • Ability to tolerate head and congestion in the kitchen.
  • Ability to stand and walk for entire shift.
  • Strong manual dexterity, coordination and awareness.
