The Four Points by Sheraton Asheville Downtown is seeking a driven Sales & Catering Manager to join our team.


Responsibilities: To be an integral & dependable part of the Hotel’s team, who have the common goal of exceeding established room night, revenue and ADR goals by finding or rebooking groups who would occupy 10 or more guest rooms per night and who also have catering and meeting requirements. The job will also entail the following:

  • Effectively prepare all Marketing Materials to promote the hotel to both existing and new clients.
  • Achieve/exceed annual sales targets while building and maintaining long lasting customer relationships.
  • Individual should provide pertinent information on expenditures for their market to be included in the S&M budget.
  • Account Management - all accounts must be maintained, updated and active. All account productivity must be entered and tracked and reported weekly.
  • Attend all necessary in house meetings and communicate all appropriate information to the Operations Team.
  • Effectively communicate the value proposition through proposals and presentations.
  • Ensure that client has met the contacted Rooms and F&B minimum.
  • Be aware of the Hotels needs and business demands so that we can maximize incoming revenue, including making decisions on balancing the mix of business (transient vs. group demand).
  • Individual responsible for generating a set number of prospecting calls, outside sales calls, site visits, and follow-ups each week. Must have the ability to develop relationships with these accounts to continue booking them year after year.
  • Submit required weekly/monthly/quarterly reports to General Manager and Hulsing Hotels
  • Contribute and work as a “team” member in all facets of the position and management team.
  • Some travel required to major feeder markets. At times, individual could be out from 1 – 4 days at the time.
  • Local sales calls are required to generate business through the Local Negotiated rate program. Responsible for obtaining and managing Local Negotiated Accounts.
  • Maintain Corporate Negotiated Accounts, from the Brand and ensure that we have submitted compelling business cases and participate in RFP season.
  • Any other task deemed necessary by Management.

Qualifications

2 years of hotel sales experience or operations experience. Hotel experience a must.
