Job Summary

Under the supervision of the Clinical Director of Intensive Community Based Services (ICBS), the Therapeutic Behavioral Services (TBS) and Intensive Specialized Foster Care (ISFC) Coordinator will coordinate services for new referrals, directly supervise TBS Specialists and ISFC staff, monitor client progress and monitor the implementation of treatment plans. The TBS and ISFC Coordinator closely collaborates with the Clinical Director of ICBS regarding the needs of clients and staff.

Essential Functions

  • Directly supervise the performance of TBS Specialists and ISFC staff, and conduct weekly individual supervision as well as department meetings.
  • Participate in monthly TBS meetings with team members (client, TBS Specialist, parents and therapist) to discuss treatment plan and client’s progress.
  • Oversee and participate if clinically indicated, in monthly Child Family Team (CFT) meetings
  • Review diagnoses as necessary to ensure clinical validity
  • Complete Supplemental TBS Assessment for TBS clients.
  • Contact referral source and determine client eligibility for TBS
  • Instruct referral source on how to accurately complete and submit TBS referral form and other necessary documentation to ensure documents meet DMH standards
  • Initiate contact with TBS new referral’s parent or caregiver
  • Complete LAUSD Service Delivery Application for clients receiving school-based services if applicable
  • Monitor LAUSD Service Delivery Application from submission through approval
  • Participate in TBS intake meetings with client, family, TBS Specialist and therapist/referring professional
  • Serve as a liaison between TBS Specialists, parents, school personnel and other team members regarding client’s progress and needs
  • Accurately chart and document services according to agency and county deadlines and regulations
  • Actively participate in scheduled staff meetings, agency wide meetings and other meetings as assigned.
  • Ensure supervisees work collaboratively and cooperatively within a multidisciplinary team and address issues in a timely manner
  • Represent the agency through attendance and participation in the TBS Roundtable meetings, ISFC Roundtable meetings, and other community meeting as required
  • Ensure ongoing staff training and development
  • Oversee case assignments and ensure an appropriate level of service.
  • Hold supervisees accountable for documentation expectations including meeting productivity standards and submitting all documentation within contract and/or agency timeframes
  • Ensure accurate and high-quality documentation from program staff including, but not limited to, progress notes, assessments, treatment plans, and outcome measures are submitted within agency timeframes/deadlines.
  • Participate in observations of staff within 90 days of hire and annually thereafter
  • Drives personal vehicle as necessary
  • Sensitive and responsive to the cultural differences among the agency’s client population
  • Actively participate in the quality improvement project
  • Work to promote a trauma-informed work environment

The TBS and ISFC Coordinator will take on special projects or additional duties as assigned by the Clinical Director of ICBS.

Qualifications

Competency Requirements

-Ability to work as a member of multidisciplinary team

-Ability to read, write, speak and understand English

-Must have excellent oral and written communication skills

-Must have excellent organizational skills

-Knowledge of functional behavioral analysis and positive behavioral interventions

-Knowledge of Department of Mental Health paperwork preferred

-Ability to remain calm and professional in challenging or stressful situations

-Ability to maintain appropriate and professional boundaries with clients, families and staff

-Skilled in developing and modifying treatment plans as necessary

-Bilingual (Spanish) preferred

Education and Experience

-Master’s degree in Social Work or Psychology required

-Minimum 1 year experience providing community-based therapy preferred

-Minimum 1 year experience providing direct behavioral support to children and/or adolescents with severe behaviors preferred

-Previous experience in a supervisory/management position preferred

-Previous experience collaborating with referring agencies (Department of Mental Health, Department of Probation, Department of Children and Family services, Los Angeles Unified School District) preferred

Certifications/Licenses

-Registered associate with Board of Behavioral Sciences (ASW, AMFT, APCC) or Licensed Clinician (LCSW, LPCC, or LMFT)

-Valid California driver’s license

Additional Requirements

-Tuberculosis clearance

-Department of Justice/Fingerprint clearance

-Satisfactory completion of health screening

-Proof of legal eligibility to work in the United States

-Satisfactory driving record

-Must meet Child Abuse indexing requirements

-Current automobile insurance

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of a TBS and ISFC Coordinator the employee is often required to drive, sit, walk and stand. The employee is occasionally required bend, kneel and use his/her fingers and hands to manipulate a keyboard or writing instrument

Work Environment

The work environment is indoor and outdoor. The noise level varies from quiet to loud
