About The Position:
The Data Engineer is responsible for the design, development, and management of all of Greater Nevada’s data architecture, pipelines, and monitoring of data. The data engineer acts as a technical resource for all data-related initiatives, serves as the liaison between the technical teams and the business, along with the business intelligence (BI) team, and is responsible for executing data quality/data integrity initiatives across the enterprise.
What You'll Be Doing
- Architect, manage, and improve GNCU’s data lake, data warehouse and data marts. Responsible for ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) of data. This includes creation and sustainment of data pipelines.
- Responsible for all data collection, processing, storing, etc. Responsible for creating, maintaining, and executing scripts and programs to ensure standards across all platforms and to automate data operations.
- Is the owner and authority for troubleshooting actions when issues occur, identifies and documents root cause, devises and implements processes to ensure the overall integrity of data.
- Owns and maintains the data dictionaries, Wiki’s, Knowledge Bases for all data and integrations.
- Available after hours should an emergency situation arise.
Qualifications
- Python and/or T-SQL: 5+ years experience required
- SQL, Oracle and/or Snowflake: 5+ years experience preferred
- Familiarity with PowerBI and Crystal reports required
- Data Engineer: 3+ years experience preferred
- Information Technology: 8+ years experience preferred
Skills & Competencies
- Highly proficient with SQL, Snowflake and Oracle.
- Advanced knowledge with programming languages, database management and data warehousing technologies.
- Motivated to stay current with emerging technologies, trends, and methodologies.
- Adept at change management process in support of infrastructure solutions and operational changes.
- Detail oriented with excellent documentation skills.
Physical Demands
- While performing the duties of your job, you may regularly be required to sit and use a keyboard, multiple monitors, mouse, and telephone (including repetitive motions with hands, fingers, arms, etc.) for extended periods of time. You may also frequently be required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms, bend, and kneel.
- You may occasionally be required to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Anything above 40 pounds requires a team lift.
- Location and Travel Requirements
The Data Engineer can be Remote (excluding California, Colorado or Ohio), or at one of our office locations in Reno or Carson City, Nevada.

Compensation & Benefits
- $105,000.00-$150,000 per year
- Compensation is dependent on experience
