Job Summary:
We are seeking a dynamic Corporate Counsel to join our legal team, with a strong focus on HR matters, compliance, contract crafting and review, and all other potential legal aspects
The ideal candidate will have 3–5 years of legal experience (in the form of working for a law firm), with a proven track record in advising on employment and compliance issues. This role is critical in partnering with HR and business leaders to ensure legal and regulatory compliance, mitigate risk, and support our company’s ongoing growth and workplace culture.
Key Responsibilities:
- Legal Advice & HR Support
- Advise on a wide variety of HR-related issues, including employee relations, investigations, performance management, accommodations, wage and hour laws, leave management, workplace policies, and discipline.
- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts including vendor agreements, service agreements, NDAs, licensing agreements, and employment contracts
- Draft, review, and update employment agreements, separation agreements/letters, offer letters, and policies.
- Compliance Management
- Ensure ongoing compliance with all federal, state, and local employment and labor laws and regulations.
- Guide internal teams through regulatory change and conduct audits and assessments on workplace compliance.
- Develop and implement compliance programs, employee handbooks, and policies.
- Advise leadership on risk, compliance, and legal frameworks to support our growth. Research and respond to inquiries relating to complex operational and regulatory issues.
- Oversee Security Risk Analysis project as part of Concerto’s HIPAA obligations
- Stay updated on global, federal, and state privacy laws and data protection regulations, assessing their impact on company products and services.
- Risk Mitigation & Investigations
- Lead, oversee, or advise on internal investigations into allegations of workplace misconduct, discrimination, or harassment, and make recommendations for resolution.
- Anticipate, identify, and advise on emerging legal risks related to employment practices and business operations.
- Legal Operations Support
- Manage legal aspects of contracting as needed, support transactional work and vendor relationships, and coordinate with external counsel for litigation or specialized advice.
- Establish standardized contract templates and processes to improve efficiency and ensure consistency
- Maintain and organize legal records related to HR and compliance matters.
