The ideal candidate should be familiar with overall system electrical design in a production environment, PLC programming, cable design, schematic generation, and hands-on debugging. This role requires close collaboration with our System Design engineers to develop electrical system strategies that meet our customers' custom requirements. Position Responsibilities:

  • Conceptualize, design, build, test, and debug system electrical designs, including safety PLC logic
  • Develop schematics and documentation to transition designs to the operations department
  • Troubleshoot complex electrical issues on automation and robotic system deliveries
  • Develop specifications, test plans, drawings, and other design/build documentation
  • Participate in electrical and safety design reviews to ensure reliable, compliant, and robust automation systems
  • Interface with customers and cross-functional teams regarding requirements, timelines, testing, training, etc.

Qualifications

Essential Knowledge and Skills:

  • BS in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent)
  • Minimum 1-3 years of experience in electrical system design, including component selection, wiring diagrams, and system architecture design
  • Experience in developing schematics and specifying system-level components for robotic, automation, or similar systems
  • Experience in creating system-level wiring diagrams and safety mechanisms for electronic systems
  • Basic experience with electrical cabinets, AC and DC power delivery design, PLC programming/debugging, and safety-related components (e.g., circuit breakers, E-stops)
  • Proficiency with Altium Designer or similar schematic design tools
  • Basic familiarity with North American (NA) and European Union (EU) electrical design standards
  • Understanding of global regulatory standards for robotic and lab automation applications (e.g., IEC, CE, UL)
  • Familiarity with JIRA for project management and issue tracking
  • Ability to work with ambiguous requirements and deliver structured solutions in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, with strong prioritization skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to independently manage multiple projects
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams and effectively present complex technical information
