Qualifications
- 3+ years in legal administration or NY real estate law with hands-on tenant law and property management compliance experience.
- NYC Housing Law Expertise: Strong knowledge of landlord-tenant law, rent stabilization, tenant rights, and housing code regulations.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Experience with DHCR (Division of Housing and Community Renewal), HPD (Housing Preservation and Development), and local housing agencies.
- Bachelor's degree in law, business, paralegal studies, or related field is a plus
Technical Skills
- Software: Advanced Microsoft Office Suite, Excel, and Yardi property management system
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal skills with ability to explain complex legal concepts clearly
- Executive Presence: Confident presenting legal solutions and recommendations to senior management
Key Abilities
- Legal Management: Proven ability to manage external counsel, control legal costs, and meet tight deadlines
- Financial Oversight: Experience managing legal budgets and tracking expenses
- Customer Service: Professional handling of sensitive tenant situations while protecting business interests

The Douglaston Companies started with the founding of Levine Builders in 1979 with just two people. Standing by our core values of integrity and ethics for the past four decades the firm has grown to 200 employees.
