Description

Provides support/leads of all facets of exercise planning, support, dynamic execution, and debriefing of crew training exercises. Performs exercise support planning and execution tasks that require independent judgment and decision making while training mission aircrew members in the mission crew simulator.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Provides detailed scenario briefings to mission crew members prior to scenario conduct. 
  • Obtains and distributes scenario documentation to mission crew and simulator support personnel. 
  • Prepares simulation equipment for exercise execution. 
  • Leads, orchestrates and oversees simulator support team. 
  • Debriefs with exercise participants.  Debriefs identified problems to exercise participants and with simulator maintenance personnel. 
  • Collects and documents the return of exercise scenario support documentation to include classified materials. 
  • Provides emulation of all external agencies supporting training and wartime exercises. Provides realistic external agency inputs both dynamically and from exercise scripts
  • Generates and maneuvers multiple simulation data (aircraft/targets) in response to preplanned scenarios and real-time/dynamically generated radar presentation scenarios.
  • Uses simulator communications system to provide voice responses and inputs in accordance with customer instructions with or without the aid of scripts.
  • Uses computer simulation interface to emulate performance of actual mission aircraft conducting combat operations in accordance with preplanned scenarios and customer directions to realistically and effectively emulate friendly and enemy aircraft capabilities.
  • Provides voice inputs to represent realistic aircraft transmissions under various operational situations.
  • Performs other support related tasks as required in conjunction with the exercise generation and execution effort.
  • Prepares reports as required.
  • Capable and ready of accomplishing all Simulator Operator/Driver duties and responsibilities.
  • Other duties as identified and assigned.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of Command and Control mission crew operational experience as Mission Crew Commander, Air Battle Management, Senior Surveillance crewmember or fighter pilot. 
  • Associates degree minimum
  • Must demonstrate an understanding of aircraft tactics and performance capabilities.
  • Must satisfactorily complete the Exercise Director Initial Qualification Course.
  • Have or be able to obtain a Secret security clearance / interim Secret security clearance within 30 days.
  • Proof of military separation or retirement or an established DOS.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software products.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Desired: Recent CRC/TACP/AWACS operational experience (within two years)
  • Desired: Command and Control Wing/Ops Group Staff or higher experience

Security Responsibilities

  • Eligible and obtain (if required) a DoD Personnel Security Clearance.
  • Must comply with all company Information Systems security policies and procedures. 
  • May be responsible for proper classification and marking of all information and materials. Employee shall not divulge any information, or afford access to other employees not having a need-to-know authorization. Shall not divulge information outside the company without management approval. Will be required to execute company non-disclosure agreement prior to access to any controlled information. 

 

Language Skills

Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language. Must have the ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex words and technical documents/diagrams.  Must be able to effectively communicate orally and in writing and work effectively as part of a team.

 

Reasoning Ability and Mathematical Skills 

Must be able to analyze problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.  An ability to interpret complex customer requirements and attitudes from verbal, non-verbal, and written communication is desirable. Must be able to calculate figures and numbers, and percentages and be able to draw and interpret graphs. Ability to read and understand electrical schematics and drawings.

  • Work in a regular office environment; communicate via personal computer and telephone.
  • Will be working in areas with risk of injury from electrical applications, moving mechanical parts, hydraulic, or pneumatic systems under pressure and electrical motion systems.  
  • May be exposed to conditions of extreme heat, airborne particles, and loud noises.
