Description/Qualifications:

The CI is a Training Center position.

Position Description: Contract Instructors (CIs) report to the Lead Instructor. They will be fully qualified to meet the applicable requirements and will be trained and certified as outlined inTR-INST-01-05. CIs are trained and qualified as Subject Matter Expert on

F35 capabilities and on operation of the FMS however, they are not required to have prior experience as tactical aircraft pilots therefore their qualification to provide formal pilot training will be limited in scope to basic systems academics and supporting MIP/CIP led FMS events or Continuation Training (CT) events.

Contract Instructors will:

  • Conduct quality academic instruction that covers applicable formal course syllabi and instruction guide requirements,
  • Maintain weapons system subject matter expertise,
  • Prepare classrooms or briefing rooms for instruction before the scheduled lesson or aircrew training device mission,
  • Clean-up classrooms or briefing rooms, returning them to the pre-class or pre- mission condition,
  • Evaluate and record student academic training, aircrew training device performance, and verbally debrief all errors committed,
  • Conduct student academic evaluations IAW applicable syllabi and correct to
  • 100% by reviewing incorrect responses with students,
  • Monitor courseware currency in applicable academic and trainer areas of responsibility and submit recommended revisions to the Lead Instructor,
  • Support lesson plan and mission guide revision efforts,
  • Support aircrew training device scenario design and programming efforts when directed by the Lead Instructor,
  • Review test analysis and critique summaries to identify instruction and testing that requires revision and make recommended revisions,
  • Coordinate lesson revision inputs with the Lead Instructor, other CIPs, and
  • Courseware subcontractors, if required,
  • Review Joint Technical Data, safety reports and Service publications for updated information to be incorporated into training materials,
  • Perform related additional duties as assigned by the Site Director or applicable manager,
  • Meet suspense dates for applicable new lessons and lesson revisions,
  • Be available for student assistance, questions, and “sandbag” missions when not scheduled for formal academic instruction, aircrew training device support, or courseware development and revisions.
  • Conduct Instrument Refresher Course instruction (if qualified and on contract).
  • The wage range for this position is $65.00 - $85.00 Per Hour.

Qualifications

Suggested Minimum Requirement:

  • Prior experience as pilot, weapon systems operator, or crew member in military aircraft.
  • Additionally, the following CI candidate attributes are desirable:
    • Military fighter experience in a fourth/fifth generation platform.
    • Simulator instructor experience on a fourth/fifth generation fighter training device.

Suggested Security Requirements:

  • CIs require appropriate clearance and program access.
