About Care Crisis Response Services (CCRS):

CCRS is a 24/7 crisis center that provides suicide prevention/intervention, crisis intervention, and professional consultation services, including triaging requests for behavioral health evaluations. We provide brief crisis counseling and assist the community and clients in determining what services are most appropriate for the current behavioral health crisis. We operate regional and 988 crisis lines throughout the state of Washington. General Function:

This is a non-exempt full-time, hourly position within the Native Resource Hub responsible for providing wrap-around services to caregivers and their families and assisting in navigating Behavioral Health resources via telehealth.  This position will provide parenting support by meeting with families virtually and providing culturally based parenting curriculums to assist American Indian/Alaskan Native parents.  As part of Tribal Services at Volunteers of America Western Washington, the Family Resource Specialist will ensure participants know about the crisis services available through the Native and Strong Lifeline (988 option 4) and Native Resource Hub, who can assist with family safety planning and connection with Indian Health Care Providers.

 

Principal Activities:

  • Engaging families in telehealth services that support the navigation of resources in Washington State assisting them achieve goals
  • Provide excellent customer service during each client interaction
  • Create and maintain accurate client records with a professional level of documentation
  • This position also completes other duties as assigned to assist in the overall function of the program
  • Contribute to an environment that focuses on ensuring integrity, respect, accountability, and trauma informed service
  • Operate within legal requirements of applicable state and federal laws including HIPPA confidentiality requirements regarding imminent risk and mandated reporting (i.e., CPS&APS referrals)
  • Utilize current technologies to interact with clients and members of the community
  • Conduct Safety assessments of clients according to agency/department policies and best practices
  • Attend staff meetings and trainings to increase client engagement and encourage professional development
  • Efficiently interact with clients in a manner that ensures appropriate level of support is provided
  • Contribute to an environment that focuses on ensuring integrity, respect, accountability, and trauma informed service
  • Support with outreach and group presentations for the Native Resource Hub as needed
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Tribally Affiliated. This can either be Tribally enrolled or connected with descendancy.
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required
  • Must have lived experience working with AI/AN families
  • Ability to obtain Agency Affiliated Counselor credential through Department of Health in Washington State within 30 days of employment and remain active during employment
  • Familiarity with Washington State Tribes preferred
  • Experience working with Indian Child Welfare programs
  • Demonstrated respect for diversity
  • Knowledge of and/or willingness to learn trauma informed practices
  • Working knowledge of computers and Microsoft office products, including Word, Excel, and Outlook is required
  • Self-starter and ability to work with little or no supervision
  • Ability to adapt to changes in protocol and program needs with flexibility
  • Ability to multi-task and apply problem solving skills for quality client service implementation
  • Requires experience working with or providing services to children or families
  • Must have the ability to establish trusting relationships and be accepting of individual differences
  • Experience and willingness to work with diverse population(s) present among the programs target population (Tribal communities in Washington state).
  • Preferred knowledge and experience in behavior management and child development
  • Preferable in work re-entry and or substance abuse settings
  • Knowledge of appropriate county community resources and school system

Home Office Technology Requirements

  • High-Speed Internet: Minimum download speed of 100Mbps and upload speed of 10Mbps. To ensure smooth workflow, you will be required to provide a recent internet speed test result as proof
  • Secured Wired Connection: A direct wired connection to the internet using a secured ethernet cable is mandatory. Wireless connections (Wi-Fi) are not allowed due to potential security risks and performance limitations
  • No Satellite Internet: Satellite internet service providers such as HughesNet, Starlink, or Vista are not supported due to latency issues that can negatively impact service delivery
