Position: ASSISTANT PROFESSOR OF MATHEMATICS
Reports To: Division Chair
Classification : Exempt
Core Responsibilities: Teaching 12-15 credit hours and academic advising. The successful candidate should have experience in teaching a minimum of 3-4 of the following courses: College Algebra, Trigonometry, Discrete Mathematics, Probability and Statistics, Calculus I, Calculus II and/or Linear Algebra.
Responsibilities:
- Teaching 4-5 classes (12-15) hours each semester.
- Advising.
- Participating in department activities.
- Strong supervisory and leadership skills to manage and control the classroom.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the proven ability to maintain professionalism and tact in high-stress situations.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- The ability to design lessons that teach curriculum in an engaging manner, applying various teaching methods, lectures, discussions, demonstrations, and individual or collaborative projects and research.
