Position: Assistant Professor of Physical Education

Position Overview: The Lane College Physical Education Department seeks an Assistant Professor of Physical Education. This is a nine-month faculty position with a maximum teaching load of 15 credit hours. Teaching responsibilities include core and elective classes as well as activity courses. Additional responsibilities include advising, curriculum development, assessment, and service to the college and community. The ideal candidate will have familiarity with Blackboard, CAMS, hybrid/online courses, and the ability to utilize innovative modalities for delivering course content.

- Participating in departmental, divisional, and institutional activities.
- Strong supervisory and leadership skills to manage and control the classroom.

- Excellent interpersonal skills with the proven ability to maintain professionalism and tact in high-stress situations.

Qualifications
- Ph.D. in Physical Education, Health Education, Kinesiology, Exercise Science or the equivalent preferred; a Masters Degree in the same area as listed above required along with evidence of successful collegiate teaching experience.
- First Aid/CPR/AED Certification and Water Safety Instructor Certification are definite advantages for considerations.
- The ideal candidate will have experience in hands-on teaching and familiarity with Adobe Creative Cloud, Blackboard, hybrid/online courses, and the ability to utilize innovative modalities for delivering course content.
- Requires some walking and ability to climb stairs, possibly sitting long periods of time, ability to lift up to 10lbs. 1% of the times and minimum travel. Some nights and weekends may be needed.
