Part-time General Surgeon

Pagosa Springs Medical Center has an opportunity available for a part-time GENERAL SURGEON. The general surgeon’s duties will include management of general surgery outpatients including examination, treatment, consultation, follow-up, referral, and ordering labs/imaging. The general surgeon will also perform general surgeries, colonoscopies and respond to traumas.  The general surgeon will also participate in patient satisfaction programs, quality improvement initiatives and any organizational or departmental goals and objectives to assure safe, quality care. The general surgeon will work in PSMC’s Specialty Clinic on a part-time schedule typically one week per month.

• SCHEDULE:
  • Part-Time: Approximately five 8-hour shifts per month (with three days of call)
• COMPENSATION
  • $2,000 per 10-hour shift
• RETIREMENT
  • 401a (mandatory plan): employee and employer each contribute 6% of earnings subject to five-year vesting.
  • 457: optional retirement plan.
• OTHER
  • PSMC provides professional liability insurance coverage and Colorado Medical license.

Qualified candidates must be Board Certified or Board Eligible in General Surgery.
