Senior Actuarial Analyst (Dental/ Health Insurance)

About the Role:

As a Senior Actuarial Analyst at Liberty Dental Plan, you will play a key role in shaping pricing strategies, analyzing risk, and developing actuarial models that drive business decisions. You’ll collaborate with underwriting and cross-functional teams to ensure data-driven insights enhance our dental insurance offerings.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct complex actuarial analyses to support underwriting, pricing, and forecasting.

• Develop and enhance actuarial models to assess risks and set competitive premiums.

• Analyze claims data, provider contracting rates, and utilization trends to drive insights.

• Build and maintain reporting tools for executives and other key stakeholders.

• Present data-driven recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Mentor junior analysts, fostering professional development and knowledge sharing.
  
  

What You Bring:

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.

• Experience: At least 6 years of actuarial experience, preferably in healthcare or dental insurance.

• Certifications: ASA or equivalent actuarial credentials preferred.

• Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in actuarial modeling software for health insurance.

  • Advanced expertise in Microsoft Excel and Access; experience with SQL is a plus.

  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to simplify complex data.

• Leadership & Collaboration: Ability to mentor junior analysts and work effectively across departments.

Compensation

In the spirit of pay transparency, the base salary range for this position is $129,099 - $167,829, not including fringe benefits or potential bonuses. At Liberty, your final base salary will be determined by factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and experience. We are committed to pay equity and also consider the internal equity of our current team members when making final compensation decisions.

Please note that the range listed represents the full base salary range for this role. Typically, offers are not made at the top of the range to allow for future salary growth.
