As the CNC Programmer II, you will apply your knowledge of the working properties of materials with CNC programming to design, manufacture and inspect machined products to precise specifications.

 

Shift: 1:00 pm - 9:30 pm, Monday - Friday

 

What you’ll do at Tosoh Quartz.

  • Analyze technical drawings, sketches, and design data of parts to determine dimension and configuration of cuts, selection of cutting tools, and machine speeds and feed rates, according to knowledge of machine shop processes, part specifications, and machine capabilities.
  • Determine reference points and direction of machine cutting paths.
  • Compute angular and linear dimensions, radii, and curvatures, and outline sequence of operations required to machine part.
  • Prepare geometric layout using computer-assisted drafting software to show location of reference points and direction of cutting paths.
  • Write instruction sheets and tooling lists to guide the setup and operation of machine.
  • Write program of machine instructions to regulate movement of machine along cutting path.
  • Use simulation software to proof out programs to assure accuracy of machine instructions.
  • Change program to eliminate instruction errors or omissions.
  • Work with manufacturing and engineering on technically assigned projects and change control topics.
  • Provide work leadership and training to other programmers and production personnel.
  • Review, troubleshoot and provide solutions for systemic level programming.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Who you are.

  • Minimum requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 10+ years of CNC machining, tooling, and fixture experience.
  • Experience machining to high tolerances.
  • Broad experience writing, editing and troubleshooting CNC programs.
  • Advanced G and M codes for numerically controlled machines.
  • Possess advanced machining capability and development beyond 3+ axis.
  • Solid working knowledge of machine mathematics, including trigonometry, metric length conversion, volumetric removal rate calculations and tool surface speed calculations.
  • Proficient in GD&T.
  • Experience reading and interpreting technical drawings.
  • Experience using precision measurement equipment and industrial trucks.
  • Excellent visual acuity: ability to see small details and finish variations and defects.
  • Word processing, spreadsheet and manufacturing software experience.
  • Ability to accurately follow work instructions.
