Barista/Coffee Shop Clerk

THIS IS A FULL-TIME, SEASONAL POSITION FOR THE SUMMER 2025 SEASON (APRIL THROUGH THE BEGINNING OF NOVEMBER)

Mission Point Resort, Mackinac Islands' only full service, casual resort is currently seeking candidates to fill the position of Coffee Shop Barista. This full time/seasonal position is located on Mackinac Island and offers competitive pay, housing, other perks. The ideal applicant will have previous food and beverage experience in a coffee shop, possess an upbeat attitude, and enjoy working in a multi-cultural environment.

POSITION SUMMARY

As a Coffee Shop Barista, you will fill a key role with an industry-recognized leader in hospitality services with responsibilities including educating customers in our Boxwood coffee shop/grab and go on our drinks menu, making recommendations based on their preferences, up-selling special items and taking orders.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• A minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred
• Experience in a coffee shop as a clerk or barista preferred
• Working knowledge of POS Systems
• Working knowledge of Serving processes and procedures
• Knowledge of OSHA and safety standards within the department
• Proactive approach, with exceptional initiative and problem-solving abilities to ensure the highest level of productivity.
• Ability to live and work on Mackinac Island seasonally
