Description and Qualifications

This position provides materials and asset management support for both tissue and organ departments in multiple locations. Serves as a primary purchasing agent with outside suppliers and processing partners to secure sufficient quantities of supplies and equipment at optimum pricing.

 

Materials Management

  • Utilizes inventory management system and other methods to ensure accurate  tracking of all clinical supplies.
  • Serves as a secondary point of contact for shipping/receiving.
  • Assists in inventory control/management of clinical supplies including: receiving, inspection, stocking and monitoring of inventory while adhering to regulatory compliance standards.
  • Reconciles materials ordered with materials received.
  • Ensures par levels of inventory are maintained, including supplies and instrumentation for recovery.
  • Assists in the tracking of inventory between multiple storage locations and staging areas.
  • Ensures inventory rotation to reduce likelihood of expired materials being available for use prevent loss of inventory due to spoilage. Disposes of expired goods in accordance with LifeCenter policy and applicable regulation.
  • Ensures that materials are stored per manufacturers recommended storage conditions unless otherwise stated in LifeCenter policy.
  • Prepares supply kits for surgical teams and restocks unused supplies.
  • Performs record keeping of material logs, purchase orders, certificates of analysis, etc.
  • Delivers, and stores items in appropriate storage areas in multiple locations.
  • Works collaboratively with the department managers to ensure appropriate support of day to day operations.

Fleet and Facility Maintenance

  • Assists with the coordination and all aspects of fleet vehicle maintenance, repairs, insurance claims, and licensing.
  • Serve as secondary contact for Surgical Recovery Suite (SRS) property management for building maintenance needs.
  • Coordinates general facility maintenance.
  • Performs and documents quality control and general maintenance tasks (e.g. Calibration, cleaning of storage areas, etc.)
  • Performs facility cleaning duties as directed.

Safety Responsibilities

  • Assists in maintaining current Safety Data Sheets (SDS) for all hazardous materials.
  • Participates in internal and external audit activities as requested.

Physical Activities/Requirements

  • Travel to facilities within the Seattle metropolitan area utilizing company vehicle is essential to this position; occasional travel to other locations may be required.
  • The individual must be able to communicate clearly using the English language to accurately convey information and hear at normal speaking levels in person and over the phone.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Proficiency in the use of computer equipment and software.
  • Work is normally performed in an office or healthcare setting as well as other business environments. Generally, working conditions have exposure to bio-hazardous materials (e.g.: soiled surgical instruments)
  • This position is required to follow hospital immunization, health screening, and background check requirements. Immunizations and tests will be provided by LifeCenter as required.
  • The employee is required to move up to 75 pounds with or without assistance.

ANTICIPATED WEEKLY TIME COMMITMENT

This position may need to work outside of regular business hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, sometimes without advance notice.

 

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • High School diploma, GED or equivalent required.
  • Demonstrated equivalent work experience in supply chain preferred.  
  • Minimum of 1 to 2 years of experience in supply chain preferred.
  • Requires a valid driver’s license and access to an insured automobile for work-related functions at expected times.
  • CPR Certification from American Heart Association or Red Cross, or ability to become certified within 90 days of hire.
  • Proof of COVID-19 vaccination or applicable medical or religious exemption will be required as a condition of employment upon offer. For those that need to complete the vaccination, start dates will be adjusted.

The pay range for this role is provided above. Where a candidate’s compensation falls within this range is based on several bona fide factors such as experience, tenure, and other specialized knowledge. This position is eligible for compensation in addition to the base pay in the form of overtime.
