Description

The Behavioral Health Technician (Resident Tech) will provide a safe and secure environment for our clients in a residential setting, engage them in skills training, designed to enhance functioning leading to community integration and self-sufficiency in living, learning, social and work environments. You will be responsible for screenings, assessments, treatment planning, case load management, crisis management and coordination of care. The principal functions of the position identified shall not be considered as a complete description of all the work requirements and expectations that may be inherent in the position. The following are duties and responsibilities that the Behavioral Health Technician shall provide:

  • Provide direct support to clients related to treatment and treatment protocols
  • Assist and facilitate treatment procedures such client admissions, self-administration of medication, medication administration, health screening assessments, drug testing, and treatment planning
  • Manage and maintain case load, ensuring timely and effective care coordination
  • Supervise, monitor, and educate clients on treatment procedures
  • Report client changes related to therapeutic issues, client information, and violation of rules
  • Engage with medication ethically and with highest quality of safety
  • Engage clients in Independent Living Skills (ILS) activities and promote health and wellness
  • Record and monitor client conditions during treatment and medication reactions
  • Assist in searches, inspections, checks, and investigations as part of treatment procedures
  • Provide transportation and support for appointments, errands, and other needs to support clients
  • Coordinate and maintain healthy levels of communication with staff of all levels to ensure highest quality of care
  • Document all client information timely and accurately as needed
  • Attend regular staff meetings, trainings, and reviews
  • Maintain compliance with company accreditation standards, including annual trainings, CEUs, and performance reviews
  • Utilize de-escalation and crisis intervention skills when needed
  • Assist with other duties assigned, including but not limited to, cleaning, restocking, meal assistance
  • Learn and utilize the software’s available (Ritten, Paycom, etc.) efficiently to complete job requirements

Qualifications

  • The Behavioral Health Technician requires a minimum of a High-School diploma or equivalent along with:

  • 1 year of relevant experience in a behavioral health (minimum), 3 years (preferred)
  • Valid driver's license or reliable transportation
  • Valid CPR/First Aid certifications or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire
  • High level of confidentiality
  • Exceptional display of verbal and written communication
  • Ability to successfully pass a background, drug screen, and MVR
