Schedule: Monday- Friday, 4 days a week, 1 Saturday per month

Position Summary
As a Staff Dentist at the Howard Dental Clinic, you will play a key role in providing compassionate, high-quality dental care to individuals, particularly those living with HIV/AIDS. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team that prioritizes patient care, education, and collaboration to ensure the best outcomes for every patient.
This role involves not only direct patient care but also mentoring dental students and staff, ensuring compliance with clinical standards, and supporting community outreach efforts to promote dental health. You’ll be part of an organization that values professionalism, innovation, and a holistic approach to healthcare.
Essential Job Functions
- Patient Care & Treatment: Provide direct dental care to patients, including examination, diagnosis, and treatment planning. Ensure that all services align with HRSA and ADA standards of care.
- Collaborative Care: Work closely with other healthcare professionals, especially in the context of HIV care, to provide integrated treatment for complex medical and dental conditions.
- Staff Supervision: Assist in supervising clinical staff, including dental hygiene students and dental students, ensuring high standards of care and efficiency.
- Program Coordination: Support the coordination of dental services within the clinic and with other dental providers and community partners.
- Clinical Safety & Compliance: Assist in maintaining OSHA compliance and ensure proper infection control practices in the clinical environment. Keep up-to-date with the latest safety and clinical protocols.
- Patient Education: Contribute to the development and implementation of patient education programs that promote oral health and prevention.
- Research & Education: Participate in educational programs, research efforts, and continuing education opportunities to stay informed about the latest trends and treatments in dental care. Attend local, regional, and national conferences.
- Community Engagement: Support community outreach efforts, including participating in emergency screening programs and new clinical initiatives such as the Alternatives to Recovery (ATR) program.
- Mission Alignment: Understand and embrace the mission, vision, and core values of the Howard Dental Clinic in providing accessible care to underserved populations.
- Additional Duties: Participate in other duties as assigned to meet clinic goals and organizational needs.
