Computer Resource Specialist

Summary/Objective

The Computer Resource Specialist plays a vital role in supporting the firm by assisting both billable and non-billable staff. This position encompasses a variety of responsibilities, including document management, transcription, and calendar coordination. By performing these tasks, the specialist helps ensure smooth operations and provides effective support to timekeepers and other team members. The role is dynamic and requires adaptability to manage different tasks and projects as they arise, all while maintaining a high level of professionalism and attention to detail.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide dedicated support to billable staff, including lawyers and paralegals, as well as non-billable support staff, ensuring their operational needs are met efficiently and accurately.
  • Manage a variety of document-related tasks, such as drafting, proofreading, comparing, converting, photocopying, scanning, and distributing documents. Assist in finalizing and filing court documents as directed by attorneys, while also maintaining and updating the document management system for consistency and accessibility.
  • Accurately transcribe audio and video recordings for timekeepers and other staff, ensuring precision and clarity in the final product.
  • Ensure accurate entry and regular updates to the firm's calendar and docketing system. Distribute schedules and docket updates to relevant team members as needed.
  • Assist with the preparation, editing, and proofreading of timekeeping entries for team members, ensuring accuracy and adherence to firm policies.
  • Efficiently locate and download court documents from both state and federal jurisdictions, ensuring timely access to important case materials.
  • Handle additional responsibilities and special projects as assigned by billable staff, demonstrating flexibility and the ability to prioritize effectively.

Qualifications

  • College degree preferred with a minimum of 2 years of professional experience in a law firm setting.
  • In lieu of a college degree, a minimum of 4 years of professional experience in a law firm setting.
  • Strong proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) is required.
  • Strong proficiency in Adobe or other PDF software is required.
  • Candidates must demonstrate a high level of accuracy and speed in typing and word processing, along with excellent written and verbal communication skills. Attention to spelling, grammar, and punctuation is essential.
  • The ability to listen to recordings and accurately transcribe audio and video content is important.
  • Familiarity with legal terminology, processes, and the ability to navigate the electronic court filing system is preferred. Training will be provided as needed.
  • Understanding of court docketing rules and familiarity with technology such as CompuLaw is preferred. Training will be provided as needed.
  • Candidates should also be proficient in data entry, with a strong focus on accuracy and attention to detail.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

Regular hours are Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., including lunch hour. This is a full time position working from our Denver office. Overtime is paid at 1.5 times the hourly pay rate when the employee works more than 40 hours in a Sunday through Saturday work week. It is important to note that this is a hybrid position, requiring you to work three days in the office and two days from home. Flexibility is important as this position rotates to other shifts as team members are using PTO. The department operates from 8 AM to midnight, Monday through Friday.

 

Salary Range

$63,000 to $73,000. The final salary will be commensurate with education and experience. Additionally, the firm provides standard benefits including health insurance, 401(k) contribution, and paid time off, with annual bonus potential based on firm performance.
