This position is primarily responsible for creating a variety of reports and data visualizations through Python and accessing SQL databases, while also providing support of the client database. This position works collaboratively with other Quality & Compliance team members to support agency wide initiatives especially related to data aggregation, analysis, and visualization. The ideal candidate will be extremely organized, highly detailed, analytical, able to exercise discretion, and provide deliberate communication across multiple disciplines.

What to expect on a given day as a Programmer 1:
- You will consult with agency leadership about technological needs, and available resources to improve efficiencies.
- You will build and modify legacy code in a variety of programming languages including, but not limited to Python.
- You will work in collaboration with the Q&C leadership to support contracts for client database, telehealth platforms, and external information technology support.
- You will address internal technology or equipment malfunctions, and present solutions to agency leadership.
- You will create and modify programs based on project specifications.
- You will manage, monitor, and maintain agency client database(s)
- You will provide daily support as needed to end-users and troubleshoot database problems with network administrators.
- You will assist with data entry requirements, and the collection, organization, and preparation of materials in response to requests for documents, reports, data, and technical assistance.
- You will collaborate with Q&C team members to produce timely, accurate, and engaging data visualizations and adjust content for audience.
You would be a good fit for this position if you:
- Have a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field from an accredited institution; OR an equivalent combination of relevant education and professional experience required.
- Have one year’s related work experience and knowledge of non-profit operations desired, but not required.
- Have Python, Microsoft Office usage (especially Excel, Word, or Access), and IT experience required; knowledge of SQL is desired but not required
- Have excellent organizational skills and attention to detail for data entry and information management.
- Must be able to handle confidential information, administrative details, work independently, prioritize work, and meet deadlines.
- Have the ability to manage multiple projects and provide strong customer service skills.
- Have experience in child/family welfare or social service agency, desired but not required.
Working Conditions
This position requires sustained periods of work on the computer, including writing/typing. This position requires frequent and prolonged communication with others, in-person and via telephone/virtual conferencing. The employee will be asked to move around rooms or within a space. This role may require tasks that involve close vision and ability to adjust focus. Remote work via telecommunications may be frequent, secure internet connection required.
