Job Summary:

The Enhanced Living Weekend Supervisor is delegated the responsibility and accountability for supporting his/her assigned team members during his/her shift in addition to the Enhanced Living Director of Nursing, Enhanced Living  Clinical Manager, and/or other Enhanced Living Leadership members. This person provides clinical support to all neighborhoods as needed. The Enhanced Living Weekend Supervisor promotes a holistic approach to care while placing emphasis on elder-directed and quality focused outcomes. This position guides the clinical team and coordinates communications between neighborhood nurses and Enhanced Living Director of Nursing.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to the day-to-day clinical operations of assigned neighborhoods, and keeps the clinical functions of neighborhoods running smoothly, under the direction of the Enhanced Living Director of Nursing

  • Able and willing as needed to perform all job responsibilities as outlined within Enhanced Living Nurse job description

  • Support nurses and med tech functions to assist them to achieve their potential in development and delivery of resident directed quality care, as it relates clinically 

  • Collaborate with Enhanced Living Social Workers/Neighborhood Managers, and/or Welcome Center in conjunction with the Enhanced Living Director of Nursing and Clinical Manager to assist with new admissions, transfers, and discharges 

  • Contribute to the development of team member training with the Enhanced Living Staff Development Coordinator and Enhanced Living Director of Nursing 

  • Attend meetings in conjunction with job responsibilities 

  • Exercise competent support with clinical team members in neighborhoods 

  • Responsible for recruiting, interviewing, hiring, disciplinary actions, performance reviews, and termination of team members within assigned neighborhoods

  • Responsible for dealing with urgent personnel matters in neighborhoods when Enhanced Living leadership team members are not available 

  • Ensure regulatory compliance by encouraging appropriate record keeping, as it relates to medical documentation, medical charts, and medical practices in the neighborhoods 

  • Ensure that medication audits, Glucometer Calibrations, EMAR documentation, Fall Records, and all other quality assurance records are up to date through routine monitoring of records

  • Assist with wound management needs in conjunction with the Clinical Manager 

  • Assist with quality management as it relates to re-hospitalization initiatives as well as completing the tabulating of incident reports 

  • Assist with identifying patterns of unsafe resident environments and/or physical decline

  • Assist with training/re-educating of team members, and/or Rehab services to benefit residents

  • Assist to evaluate residents who would benefit from a rehab perspective and initiate services of physical, occupational and/or speech therapy to improve residents' level of functioning

  • Assist Staff Development Coordinator by ensuring that team member training and in-service records are organized, recorded and being monitored, especially as it relates to EMARs and medical charts 

  • Provide input to the Director of Nursing to assist with the completion of the annual nurse and HIA performance reviews

  • Provide on-the-floor time and coverage as needed

  • Assist with the team member schedule

  • Periodically meet with new neighborhood residents to assess customer satisfaction and if their needs are met 

  • Welcome residents to neighborhood and ensure the clinical team is providing orientation of programs and policies 

  • Follow emergency procedures, respond rapidly and appropriately to emergencies ensuring the safety of the residents and team members

  • Follow proper procedures and promote safe work practices in order to maintain a safe working environment

  • Maintain confidentiality regarding resident information must be maintained in strict confidence, as well as other information pertaining to the business of Messiah Lifeways 

  • Technology Skills 

    • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

    • Demonstrated proficiency in the use of G Suite and e-mail

Qualifications

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Make clinical decisions based on departmental policies and procedures

  • Demonstrate leadership and effective communication skills

  • Must have patience, tact, cheerful disposition and enthusiasm

Education/Experience:

  • LPN/RN licensed in Pennsylvania

  • Certified in CPR by an approved program that meets state and federal regulation

  • Previous supervisory experience, required

  • Three (3) years nursing experience with a minimum of one (1) year in gerontology preferred
