Job Summary:
The Lead Stylist provides hair and nail services for clients and plays an integral role in attending to the clients' overall sense of wellness. They coordinate administrative duties for their assigned salon and act as point of contact between the stylists and the Salon Services Manager. The Lead Stylist is responsible for leading their salon team in a way that is consistent with the organization’s core values.
Job Duties/Responsibilities:
- Perform skills and tasks related to hair, scalp, and nail care (as licensed) of residents, team members, and community according to the guidelines established by the State Board of Cosmetology
- Acts as a leader for their salon team, exhibiting actions that uphold the organization’s core values
- Provides mentorship to their salon team, offering support and guidance as appropriate
- Responsible for sterilization and sanitation in their area according to State law
- Schedules service appointments and takes payments for services through the point of sale system
- Communicate product needs with the Salon Services Manager as appropriate
- Responsible for recording daily income, charges, and deposits
- Assist the Salon Services Manager in the coordination of time off requests and scheduling
- Maintain the shop in a neat, clean order
- Coordinates appointment scheduling with levels of care as appropriate
- Communicate possible health care and safety needs to the coordinators of the appropriate levels of living
- Responsible to return personal belongings (i.e. eyeglasses, hearing aids) to the resident being serviced
- Provides oversight of the general condition of their salon setting, submitting work orders and communicating upkeep needs as appropriate
- Follow emergency procedures and responds rapidly and appropriately to emergencies, ensuring the safety of the residents and team members
- Follow proper procedures and promotes safe work practices in order to maintain a safe working environment
- Work cooperatively and productively with others, including residents, families, and other employees
- Willingness to work under direction and supervision
- Maintain strict confidentiality regarding resident information as well as other information pertaining to the business of Messiah Lifeways
- Additional duties and tasks as assigned by the Salon Services Manager
