Perform various resident care activities and related basic hygiene tasks necessary in caring for the personal needs and comfort of residents. This position is supported by the Clinical Manager and Clinical Team.

Perform tasks related to personal hygiene and physical comfort of residents as required or requested

Assist with treatments and therapies under the direction of licensed personnel and according to departmental policy

Serve and assist residents with nourishments and feeding

Transfer residents from bed to chair, etc., with personnel or mechanical assistance
-
Prepare and/or transport residents to and from activities, physician visits, therapy, beauty shop or other facilities, as directed during shift assignments

Observe residents, charting and/or documenting physical conditions, attitudes and appetites, reporting changes or unusual findings to Staff Nurses

Properly use and care for Messiah Lifeways supplies and equipment in a cost effective manner

Perform cleaning tasks and keep work area neat and clean

Familiar with equipment, storage locations and methods of set-up

Report needed repairs and equipment failure to the Clinical Manager, Shift Supervisor or Staff Nurse

Utilize safety devices and follow safety precautions

Follow emergency procedures and respond rapidly and appropriately to emergencies ensuring the safety of the residents and staff

Follow proper procedures and promote safe work practices in order to maintain a safe working environment

Work cooperatively and productively with others, including residents, families and other employees

Actively participates in orientation and training of new team members

Willing to work under direction and supervision

Confidentiality regarding resident information must be maintained in strict confidence, as well as other information pertaining to the business of Messiah Lifeways
