JOB DESCRIPTION
POSITION SUMMARY

Carroll Daniel Engineering is seeking a Design Project Manager with a proven history of successful project delivery for industrial and process design projects. This position will lead and coordinate various engineering disciplines to produce design packages for manufacturing and process industry clients.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Leads and directs teams of Engineers, Architects, and Designers in a multidiscipline environment.
  • Develops manhour estimates and project budgets for capital projects.
  • Writes scopes of work and develops winning proposals.
  • Negotiates contractual agreements with the owner.
  • Manages change orders and resolves issues with client billings.
  • Conducts regular meetings with the design team, owner/client personnel, and business partners.
  • Communicates updates in scope, schedule, and budget to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Travels to client locations for project development and/or closeout as required.  

 

Qualifications

REQUIRED CAPABILITIES

  • Candidates must have professional writing, presentation, and communication skills, and the ability to develop client relationships.
  • Provide project management support to leadership team by helping to manage/resolve issues, risks, and re-planning efforts.
  • Extremely detail oriented and thorough, with strong follow-up skills.
  • Proficient with software applications, particularly Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Power Point.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • In general, performance of the job has the Design Project Manager operating from an office location vs a project location and will oversee one or more projects at one time.
  • The Design Project Manager will be subject to jobsite conditions and therefore should be able to cope with and withstand these conditions.
  • This role may require occasional overnight travel to client locations based on project requirements. 

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's of Engineering or related field and a minimum of 10 years of relevant Project Management experience in the EPC consulting environment or manufacturing.
  • Active PE registration is preferred but not required.
  • Extensive experience with process manufacturing and related mechanical systems, utilities, and facility engineering projects is preferred.
  • Prior exposure to manufacturing processes in the specialty chemical, non-wovens, films & fibers, or wood products industries is desired.
