Description

St. Croix Hospice has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Senior Accountant. As a Senior Accountant,
you'll be stepping into a pivotal role that blends analytical precision with strategic insight, ensuring the
financial well-being and operational success of our organization. This dynamic position is tailored for an
experienced accounting professional who is adept at navigating complex financial landscapes, providing
critical oversight and management of accounting processes, and ensuring compliance with regulatory

1. Manages daily and month-end accounting operations and accounting information systems including
general ledger functions, accounts payable functions, accounting of fixed assets, and financial
reporting.
2. Ensures financial record systems are maintained in accordance with generally accepted accounting
principles (GAAP) and in compliance with State, Federal and CHAP regulations.
3. Prepares and/or reviews journal entries.
4. Monitor and reconcile general ledger accounts.
5. Assists in preparation of financial and operating reports on a monthly basis.
6. Conduct financial analysis and provide insights to support business decisions.
7. Gathers, collects, and reports key statistics through the effective utilization of information systems.
8. Updates process documentation and helps either assist with or lead process improvement efforts.
9. Prepares schedules with supporting documentation for annual financial statement audit.
10. Assists with other duties and projects as assigned.
11. Responsible for maintaining compliance with all HIPAA regulations and requirements. Treats all
patient information as confidential and utilizes protected health information on a minimum necessary
basis.

Qualifications

Education/ Licensure/ Certification Requirements and Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field (required)
2. CPA (preferred)
3. 5+ years of progressive accounting experience in general ledger, month-end close process, and
financial statement preparation (required)
4. Excellent understanding of GAAP and relevant financial accounting regulations (required)
5. Intermediate to advanced proficiency level working in Excel and various accounting software
programs (preferred)
6. Healthcare/Hospice industry experience (preferred)
7. Ability to pass DHS background study.

6. Proficient in the English language. Able to read, speak, and write English in a clear and concise
manner required.
