Job Title/Position:     Accounts Receivable Finance Generalist

 

Reports To:                Accounts Receivable Manager

 

Job Description Summary

 

The AR Generalist is responsible for standard accounting clerical duties in the areas of accounts receivable.

A successful candidate for this role will be, detail oriented, self-starter, flexible and great customer service skills.

 

Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities

 

  1. Accurately enters payables for facilities into the accounting system

 

  1. Accurately processes authorizations for Medicaid, private payer and patient claims in accordance with payer requirements and organization policy.

 

  1. Assists in the preparation of monthly billing and accounts receivable reports.

 

  1. Verifies insurance benefits and effective dates for current/past patients.

 

  1. Maintains accurate medical insurance billing analysis reports.

 

  1. Maintains complete and accurate billing and accounts receivable records.

 

  1. Prepares Medicare, Medicaid, private payer and patient remittances for data entry.

 

  1. Alerts appropriate management team members regarding late or missing documents required for billing.

 

  1. Assists with the collection of receivables by monitoring accounts receivables, resubmitting bills to overdue accounts, and alerting manager of seriously overdue accounts.

 

  1. Establishes and maintains positive working relationships with team members, payers, and
    facilities.

 

  1. Coordinates reports and additional information to accounting management personnel in a timely manner.

Qualifications

Position Qualifications

  1. At least one (1) year experience in health care data entry, preferably in hospice care systems.
  2. Ability to develop and maintain relationship with external vendors.
  3. High school diploma or GED required; AS, AA or BA in accounting, preferred.
  4. Must have strong work ethic.
  5. Detail oriented, professional attitude, reliable.
  6. Proficient in Excel and Word.
