POSITION OVERVIEW
The Environmental Services Technician plays a vital role in maintaining clean, safe, and welcoming environments within our schools. Position Status: Hourly, Non-Exempt, full-time, 12-month
Hours of Work: This is a full-time, year-round position. The standard work week is based on the school’s needs, Monday through Friday. Some weekend and evening work will be required.
REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

- Proven experience as a cleaner or housekeeper in a commercial cleaning setting
- Ability to work with little supervision and maintain a high level of performance

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Performs various cleaning activities such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, and disinfecting
- Complies with all safety practices, procedures, and rules
- Utilizes an electronic work order system to enter and complete assigned Work Orders
- Ensures all areas of responsibility are cared for and inspected according to the standards
- Operates washer and dryer to launder cleaning rags and mops
- Protects equipment and makes sure there are no inadequacies
- Conducts preventive and corrective maintenance work on various EVS equipment (vacuums, scrubbers & etc), assembling equipment when needed
- Notifies superiors of any damages, deficits, and disturbances
- Trash removal from multiple areas on campus, both indoors and outside
- Deals with reasonable complaints/requests with professionalism and patience
- Completes various cleaning tasks by working on the ladder
- Checks stock levels of all consumables and replaces them when appropriate
- Conducts exterior cleaning, including but not limited to pressure washing
- Performs other duties as assigned
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is required to sit; stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, and feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl; talk and hear; engage in moderately strenuous physical activity both indoors and out; and smell. The employee may occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The ability to become CPR, AED, and First Aid Certified is required.
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions and may frequently walk on slippery or uneven surfaces. The noise level in the work environment is often loud.
Westminster is a drug-free, smoke/vape-free campus.
TRAVEL
Travel is primarily local during the regular business day. Overnight and out-of-area travel may also be required and is associated mainly with planned events, conferences, and professional development opportunities.
Driving a Westminster vehicle may be required for this position.
