Job Summary:
This position will serve as a subject matter expert for all Heat Treat, Sputter, and Wash software and maintenance. This individual will assist with process and product development by providing recommendations for procedural and product improvements, and by demonstrating high-level problem-solving skills. Preventative maintenance, continuous improvements, and documentation will be key daily responsibilities of the role. This individual will act as a “go to” technical resource across multiple functions within the Heat Treat, Sputter, and Wash departments.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain machine connectivity to SUN’s systems
- Have an overall knowledge of automation systems within the area
- Understand SUN product process from start to finish when looking at a print
- Utilize measurement equipment within machining areas
- Help and assist process and product improvement projects where needed
- Resolve issues relevant to project deliverable(s) within the Heat Treat, Sputter and Wash departments
- Support/Assist cross functional teams with Process and Product Improvement projects
- Perform preventative maintenance to avoid unexpected down time
- Perform critical machine down maintenance
- Take a proactive approach in daily activities and responsibilities

- Heavy machining knowledge is a must
- Fabrication and Welding knowledge is a plus

- Understanding of Metrology
- GD&T knowledge
- Mechanical ability and aptitude
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED preferred
- Performs work under minimal supervision
- 5+ years of experience in a related field is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to get up and sit down many times throughout the day
- Ability to lift to 50 pounds
