BI Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Business Intelligence Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for implementing database-driven solutions using SQL, crafting complex queries, and developing innovative business solutions. This role is critical in ensuring the security and availability of our databases, creating program views, functions, and stored procedures, as well as developing SQL queries, custom reports, and modifying existing database objects.

The successful candidate will leverage their business knowledge, technical expertise, and data analysis skills to support informed decision-making across the company. Key responsibilities include collecting, analyzing, and structuring large data sets from various sources to identify trends, patterns, and insights that will shape business strategies. This role is integral to enabling data-driven decisions within the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement database-driven solutions using SQL.
  • Create complex queries and develop business solutions.
  • Ensure database security and availability.
  • Develop program views, functions, and stored procedures.
  • Create SQL queries, custom reports, and modify existing database objects.
  • Collect, analyze, and structure large data sets to identify trends and insights.
  • Support data-driven decision-making processes.
  • Develop and deploy optimized machine learning models for predictive analytics using Azure Machine Learning. 
  • Design and implement AI solutions using Azure Machine Learning and other Azure AI services.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for AI and machine learning applications. 

 

Qualifications

A minimum of three years of experience in SQL development, Python, R, and other programming languages for data analysis. Proficient in data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes, with a strong foundation in statistical analysis techniques. Experienced in managing large datasets and data warehousing solutions, including hands-on expertise in PL/SQL, T-SQL, and advanced Microsoft Excel/modeling skills. Experience with Oracle EBS modules is preferred.


The ideal candidate is results-driven with a keen attention to detail and exceptional problem-solving abilities. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential, along with the ability to lead customer discussions independently and act as a trusted advisor. A collaborative mindset is key to success in this role.


A Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or a related field from an accredited institution is required. Additional certifications are a plus, as is experience within the distribution industry.


Key technical proficiencies include:
•    PL/SQL, T-SQL, and Microsoft Excel
•    Cloud platform architecture, storage solutions, and data warehousing
•    Cloud-based data processing, security, and analytics
•    Developing business intelligence solutions using SSMS
•    Version control using Git Repo and software development with Azure DevOps


Responsibilities include:
•    Providing ongoing database maintenance, including data loads and cleansing
•    Creating and modifying indexes, views, and stored procedures
•    Offering technical and functional support to end-users
•    Performing requirements analysis and documenting detailed specifications


The candidate should be adaptable, able to manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines. Physical requirements include the ability to stand, sit, move, and use fingers for extended periods, with occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds. The work environment is a typical office setting with controlled climate conditions.
