Title: Clinical Aide
Location: Squalicum Family Medicine
City: Bellingham, WA
Position: Full-time 40 hours/week, Monday - Friday 8:00am-5:00pm, non-exempt (hourly)
Compensation: The full wage scale is $18.55-$26.30 per hour. Placement within the wage range is determined by the candidate’s relevant experience.
Bonus: Candidates are eligible to receive a sign-on bonus of $1,000 when accepting a full-time position (0.75 - 1.0 FTE) or $500 when accepting a part-time position (0.5 - 0.74 FTE) (Subject to payback clause).

Job Summary:
The Clinical Aide provides administrative and patient care support within the appropriate scope of practice to ensure a quality patient experience while adhering to FCN company policies and standards. The specific tasks and responsibilities of this position may differ by Clinic setting and can include some or all of the duties listed below.
Ideal candidates have previous healthcare experience in a clinic or hospital setting in a clinical or administrative capacity. Certified Nursing Assistants or candidates interested in a future career as a certified medical assistant are encouraged to apply.
Patient Registration responsibilities:

Greets patients upon arrival to the clinic, collecting accurate demographic and insurance information and generating fee slips.

Obtains patient photograph at appropriate intervals in the registration process.

Takes accurate phone messages and documents messages directly into the EMR in a timely manner.

Answers and accurately directs phone calls, requesting necessary information to appropriately route calls. Communicates in a professional, calm, and patient manner.

Accurately schedules patient appointments within Clinic guidelines.

Scans insurance cards and applicable forms and documents as needed.
-
Assists walk-in patients in identifying an approach to accessing care.

Provides cross-coverage in all registration roles as directed.
Population Management responsibilities:

Monitors and performs required tasks on the Population Management reports.

Supplies pertinent reports to Clinical Assistants at appropriate intervals.

Contact patients and schedule appointments when due for care.

Mines data from the hospital system and updates the FCN EMR record.

Contacts Specialty Care clinics for records (i.e. eye exams and pap exams.)
Clinical responsibilities:

Supports the clinical team by performing basic tasks in the rooming of patients including documenting the height and weight of the patient, obtaining the vitals by using an automated blood pressure machine, and providing any necessary paperwork for the patient to review for further discussion with the Clinical Assistant and Provider.

Performs Retinal eye exams as directed.

Performs supply stocking, autoclaving, and storing of equipment.

Performs preventative maintenance and weekly checks of equipment.

Cleans exam rooms to the appropriate standard and processes laundry.
General responsibilities:

Performs assigned responsibilities using established procedures, policies, guidelines, and standards.

Utilizes knowledge, experience, and critical thinking skills to deliver a safe, effective and therapeutic care experience for the patients of FCN.

Seeks assistance as needed and asks questions promptly and professionally to the appropriate staff.

Performs additional duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Excellent computer skills and proficiency in working with MS Word, Excel, EMR, email, and databases.
