The Career Program Specialist leads Posse’s Career Program in Atlanta. The mission of the Career Program is to help Posse Scholars transition from being leaders on campus to become leaders in the workforce. Career Program Managers focus on three key responsibilities: (1) Developing and leading exciting, career-enhancing programming (e.g. workshops and special events); (2) Collaborating with the Director and development staff to cultivate and manage career partnerships; and (3) Connecting Scholars and alumni to resources that allow them to access a range of career development services, including internship and job search support, skill building, and ongoing career guidance. As the site’s leader for career programming and part of the local management team, the Career Program Manager supports other Posse programming as needed in collaboration with the Program Directors. An important part of the work involves the regular collection of data and reporting on career outcomes. The Career Program Manager is also a part of the National Career and Alumni Programs team and, as such, is responsible for working with national staff to coordinate the delivery of high-quality programming for Scholars and Alumni. The Career Program Manager will travel to up to six partner universities annually. S/he will be responsible for maintaining close relationships with program partners, and directors of university career centers.
