Description

As the Assistant Restaurant Manager at the Washington Duke Inn & Golf Club, you'll lead a talented team to deliver exceptional dining experiences. You’ll manage staff, oversee guest service, handle inventory, and ensure smooth operations, all while keeping the restaurant running at its best. With a focus on high-end service, problem-solving, and team leadership, this role is perfect for someone passionate about hospitality and fine dining!

Fine Dining experience and vast wine knowledge is strongly preferred. The ideal candidate should have at least a Level 1 Sommelier certification. Our goal is to find a candidate who can deliver an elevated dining experience to our guests and train their associates how to up-sell our award-wining wine list.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct day-to-day restaurant operations.
  • Supervises restaurant and all related areas in the absence of the Director of Restaurants or Restaurant Manager.
  • Provide ongoing training to staff to ensure the highest levels of service in accordance with AAA 4 Diamond service standards.
  • Manage selection and stocking of beverages for restaurants. Maintain award-winning status of wine list.
  • Perform monthly inventory of beverage goods.
  • Assist with the overseeing of Dining reservations.
  • Monitor serving of guests and handling of guest complaints.
  • Possess in-depth knowledge of all positions supervised.
  • Monitor beverage stock and ensure proper rotation to avoid spoilage or age past prime of wines or other beverage.
  • Coordinate restaurant operations with restaurant chef, other hotel managers, and outside vendors.
  • Oversee handling of cash and credit card transactions.
  • Handle employee and guests’ questions or concerns.

Qualifications

  • 2-3 years’ experience in the food & beverage, culinary or related professional area.
  • Food service management degree, certification or training is a plus.
  • Ability to manage a large team
  • Ability to walk, stand, lift and bend frequently.
  • Developed English skills both written and orally.
