Responsibilities:

  • Assists in maintaining a safe environment for hotel employees and guests by responding to all emergencies.
  • Performs preventive maintenance regarding plumbing and electrical systems such as checking outlets and pipe systems.
  • Repairs furniture & structures such as cabinets, tables, chairs, doors, window, counters, & others.
  • Completes painting projects, wallpaper repair/hanging and finishing of furniture and structures.
  • Checks electrical systems such as refrigeration controls, television sets, and lighting systems, and makes minor repairs.
  • Checks and makes minor repairs to HVAC systems, & fixtures, such as pipelines, toilets & sinks.

Qualifications

  • 1-3 years of experience as a maintenance engineer or repairman in a high-volume hotel or resort.
  • Degree, certification, or training in engineering is a plus.
  • Ability to use general repair tools, read basic drawings and specifications and make rough estimates of required material.
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
  • Ability to bend, stand and walk frequently.
  • Developed English skills both written and orally.
