The Department of Criminal Justice and Sociology at Iona University invites applications for a Clinical Lecturer position beginning August 2025.

The candidate needs to demonstrate expertise in the area(s) of cybercrime and/or cyber-security; or, is trained both in the fields of Criminal Justice and the Law.  

Candidates who have competencies and experience in both of these areas of expertise will be given preference. In particular, we seek  candidates that explore the nexus between policing/ intelligence and the legal/policy issues related to cybercrime, cyber-attacks, and/or adverse active measures on online spaces.

Candidates

  • Need to have a Doctoral Degree  in criminology or criminal justice, or in another relevant field, such as computer science, public administration, security studies, sociology.
  • Those who have a  Ph.D. in Criminal Justice and Juris Doctorate (J.D.)  in Law are strongly encouraged to apply.
  • Candidates need to have a strong record in teaching courses in “US Constitution and Criminal Law”, “Substantive Criminal Law”, “Criminal Justice and Public Policy”.  Prior experience with course development related to cybercrime, cyber-security, and criminal justice, both at undergraduate and graduate levels is preferred.
  • Successful candidates are expected to have a clear research agenda and record of scholarly publications.
