Job Description:

To assist in the oversight and management of the day-to-day operations of the Hynes Athletics Center and Bronxville campus athletic facilities, ensuring a safe, secure, and efficient environment for all athletic activities and events. This role supports Iona University's mission and values by fostering a vibrant and inclusive athletic environment that enhances the student-athlete experience and upholds the standards of Division I athletics.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Facility Operations

   - Assist in the daily operations of the Hynes Athletics Center and Bronxville campus athletic facilities.

   - Ensure the safety and security of the Hynes Athletics Center and Bronxville campus at all times.

   - Coordinate staffing to meet building and event needs.

2. Vehicle Management

   - Oversee the management of the Athletic Department's ten 12-passenger vans, ensuring their safe driving conditions and compliance with regulations.

3. Event Management

   - Assist in game operations for men’s and women’s basketball, as well as other sports as assigned.

   - Support the Associate Athletics Director for Facilities and Operations in all tasks related to athletic event management.

4. Equipment and Laundry Management

   - Supervise the athletic laundry schedule to ensure timely and efficient service.

   - Disburse, collect, organize, and inspect sporting equipment for all teams to maintain proper inventory and condition.

5. Staff Supervision and Coordination

   - Coordinate and manage staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage for all facility operations and events.

6. Mission and Values Alignment

   - Promote and uphold Iona University's mission and values, ensuring that the athletic facilities and operations support the university's commitment to academic excellence, diversity, and the holistic development of student-athletes.

   - Contribute to the success of Iona University's Division I athletics programs by maintaining high standards of facility management and operational efficiency.

7. Additional Duties

   - Perform other duties as assigned to support the athletic department and its operations.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Sports Management, Facility Management, or a related field.

- Proven experience in athletic facility management or a related role.

- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

- Ability to work collaboratively with various departments and teams.

- Knowledge of safety and compliance regulations related to athletic facilities and transportation.

 

Reporting Structure:

- Reports directly to the Associate Athletics Director for Facilities and Operations.

- Works closely with other athletic department staff, coaches, and university personnel.

 

Location: 

The position is based at Iona University’s main campus, with responsibilities extending to the Bronxville campus athletic facilities.
