Description

The English Department of Iona University welcomes applications for an English Instructor (renewable) to teach composition and undergraduate literature courses.  ABD considered, but PhD (by August 2024) is preferred.  Candidates should provide evidence of excellence in teaching both composition and literature.  The teaching load is 12 credits per term; classes are fully in-person at our New Rochelle campus.

 Responsibilities:

  • Teaching undergraduate courses in English.
  • Prepare and deliver engaging lectures and assignments that align with course objectives and promote active learning.
  • Provide timely and constructive feedback on student assignments, projects, and assessments to support their academic growth and development.
  • Assess student learning outcomes.
  • Hold regular office hours to assist students with coursework and projects.
  • Foster a collaborative and inclusive learning environment that encourages student participation, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
