Description

The English Department of Iona University welcomes applications for an adjunct position to teach courses at the undergraduate level.  For Fall 2024, we seek instructors to teach English composition and general English literature courses. The classes are fully in-person at our New Rochelle campus.

Responsibilities:

  • Teaching undergraduate courses in English.
  • Prepare and deliver engaging lectures and assignments that align with course objectives and promote active learning.
  • Provide timely and constructive feedback on student assignments, projects, and assessments to support their academic growth and development.
  • Assess student learning outcomes.
  • Hold regular office hours to assist students with coursework and projects.
  • Foster a collaborative and inclusive learning environment that encourages student participation, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.

 

Salary Range: $1248 - $1531 per credit based on course level and qualifications

 

Qualifications

Required Experience

  • BA and MA in English required. 
  • Some teaching experience
