POSITION OVERVIEW

The responsibilities of the Manager of Marketing and Content include creating and managing traditional and digital promotional content for all marketing, donor, and cross-organizational communications across both traditional and digital touchpoints. This role requires a creative and strategic thinker who is skilled in graphic and video content creation and production with a focus on marketing and audience engagement. Responsibilities include delivering effective, on-brand, and on-strategy creative assets for Jumpstart outreach materials, websites, email, social media, organic and paid advertising, publications, and events. The ideal candidate will be an excellent creative talent with experience designing for multiple audiences and distributing content across various communications channels. This position collaborates across teams to conceptualize, design and schedule marketing content. This is a highly networked and collaborative position, with work unfolding across various internal and external teams from Marketing, Programs, Education, and Development to occasional external vendors. The successful candidate will actively and patiently engage with colleagues, providing marketing and design knowledge to implement and improve our work. The successful candidate will balance creative skills, with strategic planning, and a deep understanding of effective workflows to expand and enhance Jumpstart’s brand presence. This position reports to the Associate Director of Digital and Donor Communications. Growth Opportunities: This position affords an opportunity to make a direct impact. SPECIFIC RESPONSABILITIES 

Marketing and Creative Design:

• Manage the creation and distribution of Jumpstart’s Marketing and Communications content across traditional and digital touchpoints from recruitment events to online fundraising.

• Ensure consistency of visual brand and creative vision across the Jumpstart network and all audience touch points and ensure aesthetics are aligned with usability, accessibility, and design standards.

• Lead design and management of visual branded assets for special events and products such as the brand and website refresh or branded merchandise as part of the Marketing, Communications and Brand team.

• Manage graphic updates to Jumpstart website and all brand platforms using existing brand guidelines and site templates.

• Edit short-form video on regular basis, implementing basic motion graphic design (lower thirds, end slates, etc).

• Assist in art direction of brand photography and videos as needed.

• Collaborate with external agencies and contract designers as needed. • Create social media and newsletter copy as needed.

• Support creation of internal presentations and talking points for leadership teams.

Project Management and Cross-Team/Departmental Collaboration

• Work with Marketing and Communications team to develop and execute new content production and distribution workflows, enhancing existing processes and effectively and proactively manage content based projects.

• Collaborate with subject matter experts to concept and produce communications and marketing collateral.

• Work collaboratively across the organization to manage content requests and set expectations and process on content workflow.

• Manage other content assignments as determined by the Senior Director of Brand Content and Communications.

• Stay abreast of marketing trends and best practices and communicate new tactics with key organizational managers.

• Clearly and effectively present work, communicate vision and negotiate feedback with internal teams and key project stakeholders.

Engagement:

• Work with Associate Director of Digital and Donor Communications to review campaign performance reports and analysis; implementing learnings to optimize content and engagement and drive results.

• Support community management including responding to questions and comments from the public and monitoring supporter activity across channels.


 

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, marketing, communications or related field or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
  •  Minimum of two years of experience producing creative and compelling digital and/or print collateral for professional brands or organizations.
  •  Excellent creative design skills, including a background in brand communication design.
  •  Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop.
  •  Basic to Intermediate experience with video editing software (Adobe Premiere, or Final Cut Pro)
  •  Experience with online design tools like Canva.
  •  A command of effective visual storytelling.
  •  Experience managing creative projects from concept through completion and implementing best practices across multiple audience touchpoints.
  •  Strong task management and analytical skills, with the ability to thrive in an energetic environment while making judgement calls and responding tactfully to design requests.
  •  Strong portfolio of design work.
  •  Ability to work independently and as a self-starter.
  •  Ability to work collaboratively across teams.
  •  Strong writing skills.
  •  Experience with Social Media platforms (LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, TikTok)
  •  Basic knowledge of web design, user interface design, and development principles • Proficiency in using MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Publisher) • Commitment to Jumpstart’s core values: learning, community, inclusive leadership, joy and social justice

Preferred or Ideal

  • Strong project management skills, with a keen eye for detail.
  •  Experience working with project management software (Monday, Jira, Wrike, Airtable, or similar products)
  •  Basic comfort level and familiarity with emerging AI tools.
  •  Experience with A/B multivariate testing, analytics platforms and personalization tools.
  •  Experience or familiarity with Motion Graphics.
  •  Basic understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  •  Experience with executive communications and messaging.
  •  Familiarity with the non-profit, fundraising, education, or public sector.
