Supervisor of Instruction

Provide supervision of instructional programs for students with special needs to include, but not limited to overseeing and/or performing the following:

  • Ensuring effective and engaging instruction takes place to maximize learning
  • Observe instructional practices and provide objective feedback to instructional team.
  • Develop and expand the student CBI (Career based program): student off-campus work program.
  • Monitor academic growth and data in all content areas include the CBI program for administrative review.
  • Oversee and develop teaching schedules.
  • Conduct on-going meetings with related service staff (OT, PT, & speech therapist) to ensure there is no gap in support services
  • Participating in weekly and student admissions meetings as requested.
  • Conduct monthly coaching meetings with teachers.
  • Assist the principal to establish classroom goals for classroom instruction.
  • Conducts and maintains database for weekly walkthroughs.
  • Develop and track professional development plan for the school.
  • Review and provide feedback on teacher lesson plans.
  • Develop a curriculum review and development cycle and meet with designated teams to ensure the curricular frameworks  are aligned to state standards and provide a logical sequence for instruction and attainment of state standards.
  • Establish an assessment plan that aligns to the state standards.
  • Identify and implement a progress monitoring system for student IEP goals.
  • Model and demonstrate best practices for instruction to teachers within the classroom (e.g., differentiated instruction).
  • Assisting with additional duties as assigned by Principal and/or Executive Director.

 

Hours:

Full Time; follows the School Calendar

Education/Experience:

Master’s Degree in Education. NJ Certification as a Principal or Supervisor with a minimum of five years of teaching and three years of school leadership responsibilities in a diverse special education environment and knowledge of curriculum development and instruction.
