This position pays a $2.00 per hour shift differential for hours worked from 11pm Friday through 11pm Sunday for both FT and PT employees.
The Brian Program is a group home in a community setting for adolescents with intellectual and developmental disabilities. We are looking for direct support professionals to make a positive difference with the Consumers in the program. The goal of each Consumer is to learn independence, which is driven by their Behavior Support Plan. You will work within a diverse population within the special needs community and family. - Relate with adolescents, understand what they are going through in their lives and build rapport
- Attend and accompany academic events, shopping, community integration, socialization skills, family reunification, and medical visits
- Show adolescents that they can change their lives on their own by giving them direction
- Use positive reinforcement and other techniques to keep adolescents on the right track
- Assist in teaching life skills, such as cooking, laundry, chores and cleaning
- Get moving and go outside to play basketball, tennis, hiking, bean bag toss and other activities
- Lead by example and have a positive mindset
- Assist youth with bathing, feeding, grooming and other daily living skills
- Assist with medication administration
