Job Summary

This is a part-time position as the Assistant Lacrosse Coach at Linfield University with coaching responsibilities that include, but are not limited to, the administration of daily program operations, recruiting, team training, practice organization, scouting, and other duties as assigned by the head coach.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

• Evaluating and recruiting prospective student-athletes.

• Assist head coach in responding to contacts, attending recruiting events, contacting high school and club coaches, and organizing on-campus visitations for prospective student-athletes.

• Establish and maintain a recruiting database.

• Assist head coach with travel arrangements and schedule.

• Assist head coach with planning pre-game and post-game meals.

• Responsible for planning and conducting camps and clinics.

• Assist with scouting of opponents.

• Assist with monitoring academic progress of current student-athletes.

• Assist with all fundraising activities.

• Assist head coach with daily practice plans.

• Assist with venue maintenance and preparations.

• Assist with technical aspects of the game: video input, organization, and analysis of game and practice footage.

• Preference given to candidates with a strong strength and conditioning background and expertise. However, all candidates will be considered.

• Other duties as assigned by head coach.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

 

• Bachelor’s degree preferred. Coaching experience at the College or high school level or an equivalent combination of education, coaching, and/or playing experience.

• CPR/First Aid certification required (may be obtained on the job).

• Due to recruiting and overnight travel, applicants must have a valid driver's license and a good driving record.

• Must pass the NCAA Rules Test.

Work is physical in nature, requiring constant walking, standing, talking, seeing, and hearing. Ability to physically demonstrate sport techniques. Occasional sitting and desk work. Frequent running and climbing stairs. Requires operation of a motor vehicle and a valid driver's license. Requires evening and weekend work.
