Job Summary: The Property Broker role will work extensively with both clients and markets around the advisory and placement services for risk management programs.  The role will work closely within the Specialty business focusing on specific industries or products. 

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with clients and the overall service team to review and advise on specific risk and insurance programs.  
  • Develop and maintain market relationships in order to solidify placement sources for new and renewal business 
  • Offer creative solutions to clients in tailoring programs for difficult to place risk and insurance programs.  
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of current marketplace and capabilities of available markets in order to determine / select potential markets for submission of applications 
  • Negotiate pricing, policy conditions and terms with selected markets and prepare and submit proposals 
  • Negotiate commission schedules to maximize revenue potential 
  • Anticipate needs of clients with timely solicitation of renewal information and/or upgrade of accounts 
  • Work to resolve problems that may arise with client relationships, payment issues on accounts, claims issues, E&O exposures, etc. 
  • Direct review of applications/submissions and determine thoroughness of information.  Request and gather additional information as needed. 
  • Work closely with the production team to qualify new business opportunities.
  • Work closely with the production team preparing and presenting RFP’s and any other prospective business presentations.
  • Other duties as assigned 

 

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; substantial work experience may be considered in lieu of degree 
  • 10+ years of relevant work experience required 
  • State specific license is required 
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills 
  • Strong critical thinking skills 
  • Specific broking experience with complex property risks
