Job Summary:  The Compliance Consultant will provide expertise and direction to the organization, clients, and business partners, in the area of Employee Benefits information and regulatory compliance.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Communicate regularly with producers, benefits department, clients, prospects and business partners regarding health care reform and other legislative, regulatory, and legal issues in the employee benefits arena
  • Participate in capabilities presentations and partner with producers on new business opportunities
  • Provide guidance and counseling as needed to clients with specific questions or concerns regarding ERISA, HIPAA, COBRA, and other employee benefit-related legislation
  • Write articles and opinions regarding changes in the health care area for dissemination to clients both through direct email and in our monthly newsletter
  • Act as internal resource to interpret benefits information for the organization
  • Collaborate with legal counsel as needed to gain a legal opinion and ensure we provide the most comprehensive and clear benefits information to all parties
  • Provide tools, training, and assistance for Summary Plan Description and plan document reviews to the employee benefits team
  • Lead regular webinars to educate employees and clients regarding health care reform and other pertinent information
  • Provide expertise through public speaking at seminars and other venues
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree is required
  • 5 to 7 years Employee Benefits experience is required
  • Health Care legal experience is required; J.D. preferred
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Strong multi-tasking and time management skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to efficiently handle multiple, simultaneous, and complex tasks and projects
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • High level of professionalism and confidentiality
