DV Manager

Job Purpose:

This position is responsible for management and oversight of the San Jose Family Justice Center (FJC), the anti-human trafficking program, and integration with the AACI Health Center (HC). The Client Advocacy Manager collaborates with the Administrative Manager, Shelter Manager, and Housing Manager to ensure an integrated program delivery approach.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Supervises, trains, and evaluates the performance of staff.
• Oversees the weekly coordination of the San Jose Family Justice Center (FJC).
• Monitors and evaluates outcomes data, identifying strengths and addressing areas of improvement.
• Develops and updates FJC, anti-human trafficking, and internal referral policies and procedures.
• Monitors program budgets and maintains compliance with contracts and grants.
• Represents the agency at community meetings and develops partnerships with community stakeholders.
• Collaborates with organizational stakeholders and business partners for program operations, program trends, program management, and integration with other agency programs.
• Provides community education and training on domestic violence and human trafficking issues.
• Provides crisis counseling, safety planning, information, referrals, advocacy, mediation, and intakes both in person and via the 24-hour crisis hotline.
• Coordinates financial assistance for clients to purchase basic necessities and support client transition to a safe environment.
• Documents and maintains client records per appropriate standards and regulations.
• Completes other duties and related projects as assigned.

Qualifications

Education & Experience:
• Bachelor Level Degree in a related field such as public health, social work, or social justice, or equivalent combination of relevant experience and education.
• Four years or more experience working in gender based/intimate partner violence, or human trafficking.
• One year or more supervisory experience.
• Completed state mandated 80-hour Domestic Violence and Human Trafficking training and has both Domestic Violence and Human Trafficking Advocate privilege.


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
• Demonstrated ability to effectively perform the responsibilities outlined above.
• Ability to select and hire staff, supervise subordinate managers (and other staff) and ensure appropriate orientation, training and development of program personnel.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PP, Outlook) and Teams,
• Experience using and hosting Zoom.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Experience working with grants and contract deliverables, including inputting, collecting, and reporting on confidential client data.
• Knowledge of laws and ethical standards pertaining to gender-based violence and human trafficking.
• Experience with project management methodologies preferred.
• Experience with EmpowerDB or another confidential online database preferred.
• This position may require driving. A valid California driver license, current personal auto insurance, and an MVR sufficient to maintain insurability under agency auto liability policies.
• Verbal and written fluency in English required; Bilingual skills in a second language (particularly Spanish, Mandarin, Vietnamese) desired but not required.
