Position Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced General Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of our recently acquired Orange County Honda dealership. The ideal candidate will be a strategic leader with a proven track record of driving customer satisfaction (CSI), growing volume, improving profits, and leading a team to consistently exceed performance goals. As the General Manager, you will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing our dealership’s reputation for excellence, ensuring smooth operations, and delivering a top-tier customer experience.

General Manager Key Responsibilities

 

  • Lead the overall operations of the dealership, ensuring that all departments (sales, service, parts, and finance) work cohesively to achieve business goals.
  • Drive customer satisfaction by fostering a customer-first culture and ensuring high CSI scores.
  • Manage daily operations to maintain a high volume of vehicle sales and service business while focusing on achieving profitability and revenue targets.
  • Monitor and analyze financial performance, adjusting strategies to improve net profit.
  • Hire, train, and motivate a team of department managers to ensure productivity, efficiency, and top-tier customer service.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and results-oriented dealership culture that enhances employee engagement, reduces turnover, and builds long-term employee loyalty.
  • Develop and implement marketing and sales strategies to increase foot traffic and enhance customer loyalty.
  • Ensure compliance with all manufacturer standards and dealership policies.

Qualifications

General Manager Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of stable General Management experience in a high-volume import dealership.
  • Knowledge of the Southern California/Orange County market.
  • Proven track record of achieving high CSI (customer satisfaction index) scores and sales/service growth.
  • Strong business acumen focusing on profitability, operational efficiency, and managing a high-volume dealership.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate teams to achieve exceptional results and create a positive work culture.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with employees, customers, and business partners.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
  • Knowledge of dealership software and tools; experience with Honda is a plus but not required.
