Service Manager Job Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the service department, ensuring efficient operations and high customer satisfaction.
  • Oversee daily service activities, including scheduling, workflow, and technician performance.
  • Maintain a positive work environment focused on teamwork, safety, and customer service.
  • Work closely with parts and sales departments to coordinate customer service efforts.
  • Ensure compliance with dealership policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Monitor and improve key performance indicators (KPIs) such as service revenue, repair order count, and customer retention.
  • Handle customer concerns, ensuring timely and satisfactory resolution.

Qualifications

Service Manager Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Service Manager or similar leadership role in the automotive industry.
  • Strong technical knowledge of vehicle maintenance and repair.
  • New Car Manufacturer/OEM Experience required.
  • Exceptional communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to manage and motivate a diverse team of service technicians and advisors.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Proficiency in dealership management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

Corporate Hiring Requirements: Must be at least 18 years of age, have a valid driver's license, clean driving record, and be able to pass a criminal background check and drug screen – THC not included in the screening.
