A Day in the Life of a Claims Department Team Member
When our customers return a part to us, for whatever reason (damaged, job canceled, wrong part, not needed, etc.), employees must inspect the part to determine if it is damaged, or if the customer used or worked on it, or, if it is in like-new shape, can it be put back in inventory and resold. Next, you would process the credit for the customer in our computer system, which you would be trained in. This job will be physically demanding due to the constant pushing and pulling of parts and inspecting panels, doors, and hoods at times. Attention to detail is crucial.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspecting parts with good judgment
- Issuing credits to customers for returned parts
- Filing claims on damaged parts
- Following manufactures guidelines
- Other tasks in the warehouse, as well as potential cross-training in the Claims\Credits department, and other departments in the warehouse.
